Barbershops Are Booming Now More Than Ever!

   While many retail stores may be closing their doors, barbershops are opening theirs in record numbers. The men's grooming industry has been rapidly increasing and is estimated to reach $26 billion by 2020! "You don't just look better - you feel better too," said Carlos Aguilar, a 28-year-old restaurant manager in Houston. Carlos makes an appointment with his barber every two weeks, spending approximately $60 and 45 minutes each visit. Carlos states, "It's something special. I know when I go on a Thursday afternoon it's going to be a good weekend. You're ready."

JcPenney Salon Pay Gets More Competitive with Project Cinderella

Recently, JCPenny and JCP Salon announced their new Project Cinderella, which is a new employment and compensation program that combines the benefits of working for a salon and being an independent stylist. 
Project Cinderella was established early this year on January 29th. The main perks for this are the fact that there aren't any rental or supply fees. They are also basing commission for beginning designers at 50% and could go up to 70% for top "master" stylists.
